What is endodontics?

Endodontics is the dental specialty that treats the inside of the tooth, including the pulp and root canals.
When a tooth is infected or inflamed, endodontic treatment allows the tooth to be saved instead of being extracted.

When is it indicated?
Deep decay reaching the pulp; dental infection (abscess, cyst); dental fracture or trauma; persistent pain or significant sensitivity
What does the treatment consist of?
Diagnosis by clinical and radiographic examination. Local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort. Access to the pulp chamber and complete cleaning of the canals. Disinfection with appropriate solutions under microscopic guidance. Obturation of the canals with biocompatible materials. Coronal restoration (fillings, crown if necessary).
Role of the operating microscope
The microscope offers magnification and illumination that allow visualization of fine channels, removal of debris or fractured instruments, and optimal sealing.
After treatment
Sensitivity may occur for a few days. A permanent, solid restoration (crown, onlay) is recommended to protect the tooth. Regular follow-up with X-rays is necessary.

Our goal is to preserve the health and functionality of natural teeth for as long as possible.
